What You Will Do The Chemical Diagnostics and Engineering Group (C-CDE) at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated person for an Analytical Chemistry Post-Bachelor's position. As part of the Trace Analytical and Material Characterization team, the successful candidate would have an opportunity to learn analytical techniques such as FTIR, IC, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC-MS, TGA-MS, and many more. The successful candidate would also support the Chemical Certification and Compatibility Laboratory (C3Lab) and be provided an opportunity to contribute to the laboratory's mission.
C-CDE is an applied technology organization focused on resolving national security-related issues in stockpile manufacturing and support, surveillance, applied and basic energy sciences, threat reduction, and the environment. The group's core approach involves the integrated development and application of technologies in Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, and Chemical Engineering. C-CDE engages in areas important to Laboratory missions, including material characterization and development and environmental mitigation. The highly interdisciplinary nature of these activities requires scientists and engineers who can seamlessly operate across academic disciplines. The successful applicant will work both collaboratively and independently on C-CDE projects, and with the Chemical Certification and Compatibility Laboratory (C3Lab).
What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: - Educational background in Chemistry, or related field.
- Ability to perform work in a research and development environment including planning and conducting hands-on laboratory experiments at the direction of or in consultation with staff, analyzing results, and writing reports.
- Communication: Good oral and written communication skills.
- Continuous Learning: Demonstrated ability to continually learn new things, as well as being open to working on a variety of topics.
- Environment: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Desired Qualifications: - Undergraduate research experience.
Education and Experience: - Must have earned a Bachelor's degree within the last 3 years in Chemistry or a related field.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent, on the last bachelor's degree earned.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
