Responsibilities
Review and analyze patient medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Utilize coding systems, including ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Comply with all legal requirements regarding coding procedures and practices.
Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise
Assign and sequence all codes for services rendered.
Communicate with insurance companies about coding errors and disputes.
Submit statistical data for analysis and research by other departments.
Collaborate with medical office staff to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and regulations.
Assist in resolving discrepancies related to medical billing and collections.
Provide support for the implementation of new coding systems or updates as needed.
Requirements
Must have minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Coding
Proficiency in medical coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9).
Strong understanding of medical terminology and its application in coding.
Experience in medical office settings with a focus on medical billing and collections.
Attention to detail with excellent analytical skills for accurate code assignment.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals regarding documentation needs.
