About the Role

As the Mobile App UI Designer & Brand Manager at Preffect, you'll drive mobile interface designs in Figma for our innovative Health & Wellness app, available in the App Store here:

As an individual contributor (IC), you’ll take over our established Figma design system and foundational visual assets, ensuring consistency and enhancing user experience across both iOS and Android platforms. In addition, you will own comprehensive, end-to-end brand management across all digital and marketing touchpoints. As the company grows over time, there will be opportunities to expand into leadership and management responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities

🎨 UI/UX Design

  • Take ownership of and refine existing mobile app screens in Figma, from iterative enhancements to polished final assets, for both iOS and Android.
  • Maintain and evolve our established design system and other visual assets.
  • Proactively improve app usability, flow, and visual coherence.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure a coherent user-centric approach from design to deploy.

🪞 Brand Management

  • Refine and crystallize Preffect’s end-to-end visual identity across all consumer interfaces, including mobile app, social media, website, email, app store.
  • Create engaging social media content, marketing material, landing pages, and other brand media.
  • Ensure brand consistency and quality across all customer-facing touchpoints.
  • Drive strategic creative direction to enhance brand storytelling and market positioning.

 

Minimum Qualifications

✔️ 10 years of experience in mobile UI/UX design, visual design, or a hybrid design role.

✔️ Demonstrated experience conducting UX research to inform UI designs for mobile (iOS and Android).

✔️ Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including design systems, auto layout, and prototyping. Preffect's existing design system draws on Material Design principles and follows atomic design methodology.

✔️ Strong visual design fundamentals (typography, color, layout, illustration).

✔️ Proven experience designing brand or marketing assets (social media, web, email campaigns).

✔️ Ability to cross-functionally drive creative projects from concept through execution.

✔️ Lifelong growth mindset, with a penchant for thriving at the cutting edge, including use of AI-assisted tools as a force multiplier.

 

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Professional experience in, or personal passion for, early-stage startups, consumer apps, or Health & Wellness.

⭐ Motion design or video editing skills.

⭐ Comfortable working on copywriting or close collaboration with content creators.

⭐ Familiarity with web design and digital marketing tools.

 

Compensation & Location

  • Salary: $155-195K annually plus equity, based on experience.
  • Benefits: Health insurance with dental and vision, HSA / FSA, life insurance, 401(k).
  • Location: Initially remote, but candidates must be based in the SF Bay Area for in-person collaboration as needed.
