Job Title: Patient Care Associate – Labor & Delivery
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week; Rotating weekends required
Shifts:
Shift 1: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Shift 2: 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Pay Rate: $28/hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Patient Care Associate to join our Labor & Delivery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maternity care and be skilled in providing both clinical and patient support in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Completion of a NYS Department of Health–approved Phlebotomy training program.
Completion of healthcare-based training in electrocardiograph (EKG) performance.
Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist nurses and physicians with patient care in the Labor & Delivery unit.
Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures as required.
Monitor and record patient vital signs and assist with patient positioning.
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient care areas.
Provide emotional support and assistance to patients and families.
Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and hospital policies.
