Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Proofreader to help the editorial team make sure our research goes out error-free. This position will report to the Executive Editor.

• Scrutinize investment newsletters and e-letters for errors in spelling, grammar, word choice, style, and formatting, reviewing edited copy at multiple stages of the production process to ensure that it's ready for publication.
• Fact-check editorial content, including articles and data.
• Assist our layout team with the production process to spot errors or inconsistencies in the formatting of e-mails, web pages, and PDFs.
• Format Excel spreadsheets for publication.
• Perform basic-level web layout tasks using HTML and content management systems like WordPress.

• Strong grammar skills, a close eye for detail, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team of proofreaders.
• Ability to adapt to company-specific tasks and workflow and become an expert on company-specific style preferences.
• Basic math skills (including calculating percentage changes).

Preferred:

• A four-year degree in English or journalism.
• Professional proofreading experience.
• Familiarity with AP style.
• A basic understanding of HTML.
• Investment experience.
