Job Description

Company:

David creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. Our first product is a protein bar. More broadly, David is a platform to develop high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly foods that are craveable.

This is a compelling opportunity to be a part of an exciting new food brand as we operate within a critical growth stage. David is led by CEO Peter Rahal, the Cofounder and Former CEO of RXBAR ($600M exit to Kellogg in 2017). We have strong aspirations to become the most popular high-protein bar in North America and beyond.

Role and Responsibilities:

We're looking for a detail-oriented, systems-minded Quality Analyst to support David’s Quality Team—focusing on regulatory compliance and supplier management. This role is essential to ensuring our ingredients, packaging, and finished products meet all internal standards and external regulations. You’ll collaborate closely across R&D, procurement, manufacturing, and fulfillment to ensure that our quality systems scale with the complexity of the business.

  • Qualify new suppliers for food ingredients and products, ensuring alignment with company requirements and food safety standards.
  • Perform supplier and manufacturer audits (U.S. and international), including scheduling, reporting, and tracking CAPA follow-ups.
  • Monitor and verify ongoing supplier compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FSMA, FDA, EU, Codex, Prop 65).
  • Maintain and proactively manage supplier documentation, including approved lists and regulatory certifications, ensuring timely updates and renewals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D and Supply Chain teams to support product development, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare, review, and manage regulatory documentation for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to applicable standards.
  • Review and approve label artwork, nutrition fact panels (NFP), and claims to ensure compliance with labeling laws.
  • Support regulatory activities related to new product introductions and existing product maintenance, including ingredient reviews, nutrition, and labeling.
  • Draft and maintain SOPs and guides to support regulatory training and knowledge transfer.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition/Dietetics, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in food safety, regulatory compliance, or supplier qualification in the food, beverage, or supplement industry.
  • Familiarity with food safety and regulatory frameworks (FDA, USDA, CFIA, FSMA, HACCP, SQF, Prop 65).
  • (Preferred) PCQI / HACCP certification.
  • (Preferred) Experience working with documentation and regulatory tracking systems.
  • Ability to interpret international food regulations and translate them into actionable company processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High Ownership & Attention to Detail – You take initiative, follow through, and execute with precision.
  • Intellectual Curiosity – You’re eager to learn, solve problems, and improve systems.
  • Low Ego, High Drive – Humble, self-aware, and motivated by the mission.
  • Mission Alignment – Excited to help build an early-stage CPG company focused on tools to increase muscle and decrease fat.

Practicalities & Benefits:

  • This is a full-time, in-office role based in New York City. We work onsite five days a week — when the culture fits, it is fun to be in the office together.
  • Salary: $90 - $110K per year, inclusive of cash bonus based on attainment of company targets.
  • Company equity opportunity on top of cash compensation.
  • 100% covered Health, Vision, Dental Insurance.
  • 401(k) with 4% match.
  • Additional perks, such as covered gym expenses.
  • Substantial and required PTO.
  • This role requires travel up to 75% of time for domestic and international supplier audits

Application Process:

  • Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
  • Target start date: Summer 2025
