Job Location & Hours:

  • Primary Work Location: Austin, Texas 78751
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time
  • Work Arrangement: This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring 1 day (Wednesday) onsite at the primary work location and 4 days remote.

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and independent Senior Business Analyst with 8 or more years of experience to join our team. This role requires extensive judgment, creativity, and the ability to independently manage a variety of complex tasks. The successful candidate will play a critical role in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs, formulating solutions that align with overall business strategies. A strong background in business process reengineering and identifying technological applications to solve business problems is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Analysis & Strategy: Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs, formulating systems to parallel overall business strategies. Proactively identify new applications of technology to business problems to enhance effectiveness.
  • Requirements & Documentation: Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. Review completed requirements, complex project deliverables, and design document plans, providing comments to vendor application partners.
  • Solution Development: Prepare solution options, identify risks, and conduct financial analyses such including cost/benefit, ROI, and buy/build assessments.
  • Problem Solving & Consultation: Troubleshoot and consult on system problems, developing workable solutions. Consult and escalate project decisions to the business lead for final decisions and approval of complex project deliverables.
  • Training & User Support: Develop training curricula and conduct formal training sessions covering assigned system modules. Review technical instructions for system users and provide feedback to business leads.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Design, develop, coordinate, and conduct test cases for User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Develop and complete test plans to validate solutions.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze raw data and review and analyze system dual participation records. Analyze user requirements from both state agency and local agency staff, communicating testing requirements, training, and feedback to business leads for production enhancements.
  • Project Management & Risk Mitigation: Track progress to ensure project deliverables are completed on time. Proactively identify potential project risks and provide strategies for mitigation to business leads.
  • Customer Service & Guidance: Provide quality customer service to external and internal customers through prompt responses, problem-solving initiative, flexibility, and continuous improvement in planning and business processes. Provide guidance and explain processes to interested groups and team members.
  • Reporting: Review Sprint summary reports.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements (8 Years Required Experience):

  • Providing guidance and explaining processes to interested groups and team members.
  • Providing quality customer service by responding to all inquiries and requests promptly.
  • Reviewing Sprint summary reports.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1 Year: State WIC or WIC Local Agency experience.

Additional Skills (Highly Valued):

  • Strong experience as a Data Analyst in analyzing raw data.
  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst in requirements gathering and understanding technology.
  • Any project management experience, especially with PMP certification.
