Sporting News is seeking a Spanish-language freelance contributing writer to join its trending news team. Contributing to the U.S. (Espanol) and Mexico editions, this is a multi-sport writing position focused predominantly on major U.S. professional and college sports.

The ideal candidate understands the players, teams and stories that resonate the most with Spanish-speaking sports fans in North America. Youll be empowered to create written content around trending news, breaking stories and viral moments against the most important daily topics including the NFL, MLB, NBA, college football and soccer among others!

This is a high-volume writing position best suited for self-starter, ambitious candidates who understand what drives audience and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

SNs Wires Network creates feed-friendly informative content tailored for the casual fan.

• Can you sell stories with captivating headlines tailored for Google Discover?
• Can you identify unique, differentiating angles to major stories?
• Can you source ideas from press conferences, podcasts or social feeds?
• Can you write quickly, selling a story with concise yet complete copy (300-400 words)?
• Can you think like a fan and conjure up engaging team-centric lists to spark debate?
• Can you commit to consistently producing a minimum of five stories per day?

A word to the wise: We arent looking for beat writer game recaps. We arent looking for long-form features or investigative reporting. We arent looking for hot takes or commentary. While theres certainly a home for that type of content, it doesnt mesh with this specific opportunity.

THE PROJECT:

• Write short news articles (250-400 words) related to the biggest trending stories and viral moments of the day
• Proactively identify and source stories to write in adherence to SNs Wires policies
• Write and publish stories directly in SNs CMS
• Apply SNs Google Discover and SEO best practices
• Communicate with broader SN Wires team daily on in-progress and finished work
• Execute link strategy with specific call-to-action copy and placement
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish

El candidato ideal conocer de jugadores, equipos e historias que resuenen ms entre los fanticos del deporte hispanoparlantes de Norteamrica. Podr crear contenido escrito en torno a noticias de tendencias, ltima hora y momentos virales sobre los temas diarios ms importantes de la NFL, la MLB, la NBA, el ftbol americano universitario y el ftbol, entre otros!

Este es un puesto de redaccin de gran volumen al que se adaptarn mejor los candidatos ambiciosos y con iniciativa, que comprendan lo que atrae a la audiencia y se desenvuelvan en un entorno de ritmo rpido.

• Sabes vender historias con titulares atrapantes adaptados a Google Discover?
• Puedes identificar ngulos nicos y diferenciadores para historias importantes?
• Puedes extraer ideas de ruedas de prensa, podcasts o redes sociales?
• Sabes escribir con rapidez y vender una noticia con un texto conciso pero completo (300-400 palabras)?
• Sabes pensar como un aficionado e inventar listas atractivas centradas en el equipo para suscitar el debate?
• Puedes comprometerte a producir un mnimo de cinco artculos al da?

AQU TIENES UN DESGLOSE DE LO QUE HARS (PRINCIPALMENTE)

• Redactar artculos breves (250-400 palabras) relacionados con las noticias ms destacadas y los momentos virales del da.
• Identificar y buscar de forma proactiva historias para redactarlas de acuerdo con las polticas de SN's Wires.
• Escribir y publicar historias directamente en el CMS de SN
• Aplicar las mejores prcticas de Google Discover y SEO de SN.
• Comunicarse diariamente con todo el equipo de SN Wires sobre el trabajo en curso y terminado.
• Ejecutar la estrategia de enlaces con un texto especfico de llamada a la accin (Call to action) y su colocacin.
